Thanksgiving is one of America’s most important holidays, with good reason. It’s a time to celebrate all that we have to be thankful for, whether it’s family, friends, or just having enough food on the table.

1. Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in the United States. It was first celebrated in 1621 when the Pilgrims and Wampanoag Native Americans came together for a feast after their first harvest.

2. It is the time to thank all you have and express gratitude for what you have been given. It’s also a time to celebrate with family and friends over a traditional meal.

3. It is held on the fourth Thursday of November each year. In some states, it’s celebrated on the last Thursday in October or the first Thursday in December.

4. The traditional Thanksgiving meal includes turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. There are many variations to this menu, however. Some people prefer ham with all the trimmings instead of turkey, and others like to serve a side dish called sweet potato casserole.

5. At Thanksgiving, there is always a prayer of thanksgiving read before dinner begins.
